FAQ

Questions, answered

Are these real financial statements?

Yes. They are built from a double-entry ledger with a chart of accounts, not from a spreadsheet of categorized transactions. Your accountant will recognize them.

Why is the balance sheet a separate plan?

A profit and loss tells you whether you made money, which is what most owners need to run the business and file. A balance sheet that is actually right needs every account reconciled to the statement every month, plus opening balances and adjustments: bookkeeper-level work. Full Books does that work for $99 a month, billed annually, a fraction of a bookkeeper.

Can I see the transactions behind a number?

Click any line on the profit and loss or balance sheet to see the transactions that make it up, and click any transaction to recategorize it. The report updates immediately.

What formats can I export?

CSV for any report or transaction list, which opens in Excel, Google Sheets and every tax package. PDF export is coming.

Does it handle cash and accrual?

Books are kept on a cash basis by default, which is what most small businesses file on. Bills and invoices you upload are tracked so your accountant can make accrual adjustments at year end if needed.
